The Social Activity Day, organized every Wednesday by the Faculty of Letters at Karabük University, once again brought together academics, students, and guests for an insightful seminar this week.


This week’s event featured a seminar titled "India: Geography, History, and Culture", presented by Dr. Javad ZAFAR, Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Letters, Karabük University. Participants had the opportunity to gain academic and scientific insights into India's geographical features, historical development, and cultural diversity.

In his presentation, Dr. Javad ZAFAR discussed India’s physical geography, major river systems, the influence of the Himalayas, and the tropical and monsoon climate system. Additionally, he provided an in-depth analysis of India’s historical milestones from ancient times to the modern era, including the Indus Valley Civilization, the Mughal Empire, and the impact of British colonial rule. The cultural segment of the presentation highlighted India’s multilingual and multi-religious structure, its influence on social life, traditional architectural elements, Indian cuisine.

Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of India’s history and culture.


At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, presented Dr. Javad ZAFAR with a certificate of appreciation for his valuable contributions.

The Faculty of Letters at Karabük University continues to enhance scientific awareness through such events, which provide academic perspectives on the historical and cultural heritage of different regions.
