The Social Activity Day, which is organised by Karabük University Faculty of Letters on Wednesdays every week, brought together academicians, students and guests in an important presentation this week.
In this week's event, the contributions of John Dewey in the process of the birth and development of social sciences were discussed. Assist. Prof. Dr. Kadir YILMAZ at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Letters, Karabük University, made the presentation. The participants gained valuable information about Dewey's philosophy of pragmatism, his understanding of education, his views on democracy and social reforms.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Kadir YILMAZ, the role of Dewey in the development of social sciences and the reflections of these thoughts on today's academic world were discussed comprehensively. In the Q&A section organised after the presentation, the participants had the opportunity to get more in-depth information about the topics they were curious about.
At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Letters Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN presented a certificate of appreciation to Assist. Prof. Dr. Kadir YILMAZ for his contributions.
