Within the scope of the Social Activity Day organised by Karabük University Faculty of Literature on Wednesdays every week, Dr. Selim GÖK from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature was hosted this week.
In his presentation, Dr. Selim GÖK stated that literature is not only a means of artistic expression, but also a field that illuminates social and historical services and enlightenments. Our lecturer, who presented historical events and periodical social lives in a rich narrative by combining Ottoman period poems with his art, gave information about the place of this unique understanding of poetry in our cultural diversity. In the presentation, Dr. Selim GÖK, who touched on issues such as the place of the art of practice in the Ottoman poetry tradition and how classical poetry can be evaluated as a historical archive, completed his presentation with examples of the relations of traditional arts with past historical events and cultural dynamics.
At the end of the event, Dr. Selim GÖK was presented a certificate of appreciation by Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, Dean of the Faculty of Literature.
