History Department, which received it's first 40 students during 2009-2010 academic year, currently consists of 4 programs in total; including 2 undergraduate and 2 graduate education:

At present, there are 5 Professors, 4 Assosiate Professors 7 Assistant Professors and 5 Research Assistants working for our department and the number of academic staff is increasing gradually.
The aim of our department is to train historians who can build bridges between past and present, integrate local values with universal values, have historical awareness, and have the ability to handle the issues with scientific methods.
Our students, who attend courses on different topics and periods, are trained with the responsibility of being capable historian. Important academic researches and studies continues in the fields of Ancient History, Medieval History, Recent History, History of the Republic of Turkey, and General Turkish History. In academic meetings and discussions, significant issues of history are discussed with scientific methods.
Alumni of History Department can work at Institutes of Turkology, Middle Asian, Middle Eastern and Turkish Research centers at several universities in addition to becoming researchers and specialists of their field. Our alumni can be employed as specialists in public and private sector including General Directorate of State Archives and Directorate General of Foundations. Also our alumni who can work at private teaching institutions, have the opportunity to work as teachers at primary and secondary schools.
