The works of Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil, one of the important names of Turkish literature, are being revealed faithfully with the project led by Karabük University members.
In the first days of 2025, this publication was carried out under the editorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Atay, Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Karabük University, Faculty of Literature. Stating that the works that proliferated after the end of the author's copyrights were mostly carried out with titles such as contemporary Turkish, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Atay states that he started his studies by emphasising that it has become a necessity to reveal the works of such an important personality by considering academic sensitivities.
All of Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil's works, of which only one work has been edited so far, have been published as a corpus by no publishing house. Within the scope of the project initiated by the faculty members and students of Turkish Language and Literature of our faculty, the preparation of his published and unpublished works under the roof of a single publishing house has been started. In this context, eight novels of the artist, which constitute the first stage of the project, were prepared and brought together with readers and researchers. Another important feature of the works, all of which were prepared through edition criticism, is that they are based on the first editions.
