Karabuk University Faculty of Letters Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Atay was listed among the most successful academicians of Turkey with his academic studies in 2024. Atay ranked first in Turkey in the fields of ‘New Turkish Literature’ and ‘Philology’ according to YÖK data.
Karabuk University (KBU) Faculty of Letters Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Atay has achieved a significant success with his academic studies in 2024. According to the data of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), Atay ranked first in Turkey among 6078 researchers in the field of ‘Philology’ and 761 researchers in the field of ‘New Turkish Literature’.
In addition, he ranked 30th in Turkey among 78383 social sciences researchers.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atay stated that it is an honour for him to bring such great success to Karabük University. Emphasising that academic publications are important not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality, Atay said that the basis of his success was the five-volume work published by an international publishing organisation.
He stated that the work, which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, is also very valuable in terms of the history of Turkish Literature. Atay's work ‘The Inner 100 of Turkish Literature’ sheds light on the history of literature by compiling surveys conducted with literary figures between 1920-1950.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Atay stated that the publication of this work by the members of Karabük University is a source of pride.
Atay also emphasised that Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık and Dean of the Faculty of Letters Prof. Dr. Muhittin Kapanşahin's support for academic studies played a major role in this important achievement.
