The Department of Turkish language and literature started its education with 41 students in the 2009-2010 academic year. As of 2019 - 2020, approximately 750 students are teaching in our department and there is a master's degree program in our department. In our department, there are six sub-departments: Modern Turkish Literature, Old Turkish Literature, Modern Turkish language, Old Turkish language, Folk Literature and Modern Turkish dialects and Literatures. Four associate professors, eight assistant professors and one research assistant are working in our department, and our number of academic staff is rapidly increasing. The aim of our department is to train staff who are equipped with the basic knowledge of the field in order to meet the needs of Turkish linguists in our country. Students who have just graduated from the program can work as trainers in all kinds of educational institutions such as lecture halls, private schools and study centers, researchers in related departments of universities and experts in archives. In addition, graduates of the department can work as a teacher of Turkish language and literature under the Ministry of National Education by studying formation. |
