As part of the regular Wednesday Social Events organized by the Faculty of Letters at Karabuk University, a conference was held on May 7, 2025, by Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma ERTEN, a faculty member from the Department of History.
Titled "A Multifaceted Ottoman Intellectual in the Process of Westernization: Ahmed Kemal Pasha," the presentation by Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma ERTEN focused on the role of Ahmed Kemal Pasha in post-Tanzimat Ottoman society, his statesmanship, cultural contributions, and intellectual profile. His position in the process of Westernization, his approach to educational reforms, and his place within the intellectual environment of the era were also discussed.
Following the presentation, participants contributed by asking questions and sharing their thoughts.
At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Letters, Prof. Dr. Muhittin KAPANŞAHİN, presented a certificate of appreciation to Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma ERTEN for her valuable contribution.
